Okay...I splurged and acquired a shiny red m-edge cover and matching book light and, also being an owner of the sony booklight/cover combination here are my thoughts. Get the M-Edge. Sadly it was not any narrower than the Sony which was one of my hopes BUT...the cover is a million times more sturdy, more padded and nicer looking. More importantly the booklight is way brighter and nicely illuminates the entire "page" without constantly moving it around as I had to do with the Sony. So, if you are wavering between one or the other I would go with the M-edge notwithstanding the fact that it doesn't use the hinges which is its only detractor I think.

Only other comment I would make is that if I were doing it again I would not get the red case to go with the red Sony as they are very different shades...the Sony almost looks purply beside the red m-edge.
