Hmm. If your old books still show correct metadata, and only the new ones aren't correct, it would appear to me the bug lies in generation of additional cached information, contained in cached book information file you have with the book on Cybook. Perhaps it would be possible to analyze the format of good cached data, bad cached data, and write a plugin (for Calibre, for example), that would fix the problem in cached data files, or even generate the cached data along with the book, thus circumventing the problem?
Just an idea, I use 1.5 myself.
