Uhm, I see, so we have 2 possible sources of the problem: collision with spanish hacks and interrupted update process.
If nothing else works, you'll have to reset (there is a small hole on the back side, right in the middle of the reader, inside it is a reset button, in case you wonder how to reset it) the reader repeatedly more than TEN times in a row RIGHT after startup screen shows. This will reset the firmware to zeros, and it will fall into firmware update mode.
