Good catch on the Adobe ID. But you can download lrf or ePub from MobileRead for your Sony Reader. An Adobe ID isn't needed for ePubs from here.

Also if you use Calibre then you can convert any Mobipocket (prc) file from MobileRead to either lrf or epub for use on your reader.
