True - but I already got QT for VLC and Sigil installed - so with MacPort instead of three QT installations I would have only one. The MacPorts version if VLC is 4.9M and the one of Sigil 3.0M.

MacPorts already got Python 2.6 which compiles fine with 10.6. Not need to reinvent the wheel here.

Dependents of dependent are already handled by other maintainer. With over 6600 ports most stuff is already done in MacPorts.
