The 600 is my third reader, but with my old 500 and 505, and, (although the 600 hasnīt shown any charging issues... yet) , I seem to recall that older models had issues with the circuit that monitors the charge. it seems it misreported the charge somehow, and even forced the unit shutdown. what I did was to reset the unit when it reached the "empty" state, but was still operable, and proceeded to recharge it, turned off and using the charger (not the USB). That usually took care of it, at least for a while.
