Thin glass is not a good material out of which to build ebook readers!

My CyBook's screen has cracked. I was carrying it my hand (in its case), when I slipped on some ice. No damage to me, but I can only think that my hand must have gripped too tightly when I hit the ground. There's now a nasty little crack to the substrate in the bottom left hand corner.

I shall move over to my Kindle for reading (I have one for testing purposes). I'm not sure that's it's worth getting this one fixed - it's expensive to do so, and this is the second cracked screen we've had. Not that I think there's any particular flaw in the CyBook. Only that glass screen are inherently fragile.

I think I'll wait until screens without a glass substrate become available before I get another ebook reader. Hopefully sometime next year.
Oh No! Sorry! Plastic Logic is supposed to have the Que out early next year.
