You might need to delete and reinstall the Sony software, but you should be OK just switching locations (you'll have to use UK, I think - I don't think Sony realises that Ireland isn't in the UK).
Registration at the WH Smith ebook store is a bit of a pain. I had to switch browsers (I'm on a Mac) to get it to work)
