It is much improved over the 700 (the side-lighting actually contributed more than half the overall problems with readability).

The main problem with the 600/900 screen is:

- Reduced light reaching the eink and back from scatter in the touch screen (harder to read in low light without a reading light of some kind)

- Reflections on the touch surface. If the light hitting the e-ink can drown out the light coming from the reflection? You're fine. This is another reason low light isn't as readable, since the reflections start catching up to the actual light hitting the e-ink and become more noticeable.
