The ebook reader is for public domain books that I would have to pay for in paperback format. But when I have the choice between electronic media or paper for the same price, I'll choose the latter. It's simply a question of
appropriate technology. There is only one advantage I can think of in using an ebook reader: compact size. On the other hand, paperbacks are usually cheaper if you get them used, they're more robust, don't need batteries, better resolution and contrast. This reminds me of people who use an electronic organizer instead of a paper agenda. I personally would never trust an electronic gadget with important appointments and telephone numbers, and nothing beats a paper agenda for quickly jotting things down.
