also, as with any new electronic. it may take a few complete charges and discharges to properly calibrate the battery gauge. so be sure to charge it up completely and run it until it shuts off from a dead battery. also a good idea to do that once every month or so.

I can understand the sleep mode issue, but why the big difference between the 505 and the 600. I only ever put my 505 into sleep mode. When I look back I think that I got much better battery life when new, but this is very subjective.
I have done the full discharge and charge cycle and that gave no benefit.
