Edmonton came out of the cold snap last week and temperatures have bounced around the 'normal' mark for this time of year (high -7C and low -18C). Currently -13C and light snow falling.
Looks like the entire east coast of North America got pummeled (60+ cm in some places). I've lived in Edmonton for nearly 20 years and have never seen more than 25cm of snow fall in any one day. We tend to get lots of light snow, 5 to 10 cm at time. Got 5 cm Friday night, another 2 or 3 cm Saturday night and looks like we'll get another 5 to 10 cm today and tomorrow. That's pretty typical for here. Snow depth in the middle of my back yard is about 30 cm.
My heart goes out to those folks having to shovel 2 feet of heavy, wet snow. At least you all should have a white Christmas.
