no to iPod charger, but there is a cheap alternate charger. From what I understand you can use a PSP (Sony's portable gaming system) charger that is available for $10 or so from Best Buy, Wal-mart...etc. The USB charger on the 300 has to have a "host mode" USB on the charging end, like a laptop or desktop PC. The iPod charger base is not a host mode device..... hope that helps....
I plan on getting a cheap PSP charger at Wal-mart today, I will let you know how it works.....
