That happened to us with the movie "Bolt". I ended up getting the movie in 3D which the rest of the family liked but I had trouble seeing through the silly 3D glasses thanks to my monovision contact lens!
I thought I was just buying the tickets for the regular movie and wondered why they were so expensive.
