Yes, Silent Running is great. Glad you and Sparrow like it too. An environmental sci-fi. Don't you just think the corduroy spacesuits are so 70's?
I loved it when he came in carrying apples in his monk-like costume too...kind of hippy. The whole storyline is excellent though. He sure has passion for his garden and protecting it. So many precious little bits in the movie and Joan Baez's songs were great too.
