technology skills
For me while I find the Cool-er easy to use I think someone less tech savvy might have issues. A lot of people I know are not very good with computers.
In general I don't recommend e-readers to anyone, as I don't know many people who read enough to make it worth their while. At this point I think that unless a person reads more than 1 book a week its probably not worth the cost. For someone like me who can easily read 4+ books a week a e-reader is great.
One of the issues with the Cool-er has been supply. They were out of stock for a while, though you can once again buy them through their website.
On the good side is now that the firmware issues have been resolved its very stable and the design is very much like a ipod, making it a very stylish addition. Hey I won't deny it, I like that my Cool-er looks great! One of my major gripes with the Kindle is how ugly I think it is, though to be fair I have never used a Kindle myself.
Cool-er's customer support has been VERY good. They replaced the Cool-er that I broke, 2 times! So far they get an A+ from me.
The ereader market is still very much emerging and now with all the new players I think that the prices will come down and it will be more accessable to people.
I was very pleased to hear how many Cool-er's sold on QVC recently!
