I know what you mean, my great x3 grandfather had seven children (only one survived childbirth, my great x2 grandfather) with his first wife who died upon the birth of their 7th child and then remarried and "produced" another 9 children with his second wife. So two wives and 16 kids!!!

Half the clan stayed in Sicily and the other half emigrated to Texas circa 1900.
