I think part of it is a result of a move to an actual hosing facility. Once upon a time, ManyBooks lived on a Mac Pro at the owner's home, at the other end of
a DSL line. He had to use minimal design to conserve bandwidth. Once he moved to a hosting facility, those concerns eased.

From their about page, ManyBooks runs on a Mac Mini at
http://macminicolo.net, and from what I remember, that's the way they have been for at least a few months, probably longer. I would feel very guilty about hitting a Mac Pro over DSL to get books into Inkmesh
