I'm sure your method is much more elegant than mine, kovidgoyal -- I just sort the files into folders by author's name (last, first) and then sub-folders for series (I pre-pend the position in the series to the title: i.e. "01 On Basilisk Station.RTF" would be in the "Honorverse" sub-folder of the "Weber, David" folder). It's kinda brute force, but it works well enough for me.
