If you go to Sony's website they let you put in your info and that lets you know if you qualify for the exchange; that's what I did when I dropped the lower half of my reader in the tub- I mean, when the cat knocked it into the tub
. Mine doesn't qualify b/c of the water damage, but who knows? If you can get ur reader fixed for $30 I'd say go for it!
