Maybe I spoke too soon earlier.
Using firmware upgraded PRS-500 on Ubuntu. Connected it; it fails to recognise my memory stick. It automatically uploaded news to the internal memory. I disconnected the device, the PRS-500 claimed it was still connected via USB. Had to force reset.
Tried connecting it again, memory stick not appearing in calibre.
Third time, memory stick still not appearing in calibre.
Any suggestions? - Running 0.6.27 on ubuntu x64
OK, plugged it into PC. sony software and calibre 0.6.26 hasn't a problem detecting the prs-500 and its memory stick. This deserves more testing; shall do calibre debug on ubuntu and post result.

My memory stick reappears magically now on ubuntu! Don't ask me why..
