The Astaks seem to like FB2 best, followed by RTF and mobi. They do epub okay if you don't have an issue with the font sizes. The Sony 300 is probably best considered an epub reader.
Of the two, I'd go for the Astak because of the side mounted paging buttons and the jog dial; I'm not a fan of bottom-mounted paging. YMMV, of course.

Both are decent enough readers by current standards.

On the issue of bulk, though, the Pocketbook 360 is the size of a CD case and 10 mm thick, the same as the 300, you know.
