This is the 3rd version of WordNet from folks at Princeton. They are constantly expanding their database. If you find that some words are missing, you may want to report which to them. Note that they do not include in their database certain parts of speech (articles, pronouns, etc.) by design.
The transcription is not part of WordNet. I can only assume that the Palm version has taken transcription from somewhere else and merged it with WordNet. By the way I prefer IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcription and the only dictionary for Kindle that I know using IPA is the Merriam-Webster's Advanced Learner's Dictionary. They cleverly use pictures for those IPA symbols that are not supported by the Kindle. If you need transcription then MWALD may be for you.
