I see a compelling reason to liberate just because drm is there.
I feel much more secure in my purchases when I know I can keep and read the files for as long as I choose, and not as long as the publishers or the device manufacturers or the book stores choose.
I don't think that my liberated epubs have any difference in formatting from the unliberated ones, so it's not really hard work at all.
