Well, UP does give them a good vantage point. When we had cats, when they were kittens, they got very very good at very quickly scaling humans to sit on shoulders - especially if there was something interesting going on, like food preparation. For a while, it wasn't uncommon for me to be walking around the kitchen with a kitten on each shoulder...
