Got a nook. At first I just plain loved it. The more I used it, the more I noticed issues. It doesn't seem as slow as others say it is, but it's definitely more sluggish than my Sony Reader Pocket Edition. Turning pages takes the same amount of time though. Wi-Fi has problems connecting sometimes and after a long sleep, 3G sometimes has trouble establishing connection as well. I made a post about purchase problems. The nook seemed to read from a cache and kept displaying a sample of a book rather than the full book. The dictionary is also spotty and refuses to work sometimes.
Like everyone said though, it seems like the issues are all software based and can be corrected. As long as that happens, I won't get rid of it and switch to the Kindle.
