Personally, not being a Christian, I've never had any problem using these mashed together pagan holidays, and getting a few days off work. Add to that an excuse to spend money in traditionally lavish and unpredictable ways for friends and families, and I adore Christmas and all that it stands for: fun!

My family is a "Jesus" household, and my dad always subscribes to being a "Christmas morning" present opener, but he never makes it that long. For as long as I can remember, he's made up one excuse or another for us to open up some or all of our presents on Christmas eve, because he's too excited to wait any longer.
