The expense to repair the screen is almost equal to a new Reader so if possible, get the insurance offered by SonyStyle for the Reader as it is (as I remember) about $54 for a couple of years.

Can you elaborate on this warranty? I couldn't find this thing anywhere but borders, and they don't offer an in-store warranty like best buy. I just bought my reader a few days ago -- can I still get this extended warranty?
