Here's how I fixed my new Kindle DX ...

I've had my Kindle DX about a month. Gift from my son. Recently the Back button stopped working. Couldn't figure out how to restore functionality. So, I started exploring the device.

I brought up the Kindle DX User's Guide. Did some searches related to back button. No joy. But, I noticed this: the menu button provides different lists in different contexts! So I began exploring it. I pressed the Home button, then I pressed the Menu button.

Several new items listed there. Among them is Settings. I went there. Nothing too useful just now. I pressed Menu again. There I found Restart, and also, Reset to Factory Defaults. I chose Restart.

The Kindle DX went into a recovery mode for a minute or two, restarted and my Back button worked as new.

I realize my problem was relatively simple and my solution is a kind of an obvious one. However there may be new users lurking around who need such basic advice and encouragement. I know I did!

Happy reading!
