Now you know you have just made people curious enough to read the first chapter. I was able to download the first book when it was still free but haven't tried it yet. After reading the reviews, I probably won't bother. Or I'll glance at it to see if it really is that bad, then I'll delete it.

I've read some nifty Christian thrillers lately, so I'm used to reading books by people I disagree with on some things. Just as I'll disagree with the politics of some SF/fantasy/horror writers (such as H. P. Lovecraft ) and read them anyway. But I can handle the differences as long as they don't preach, don't get all ranty, don't set up ridiculous strawman arguments that make their characters look smarter than everyone they disagree with, and above all, don't suck. Then again, I tend to avoid thrillers about the Mideast because of the way the stories are often handled. Give me over-the-top serial killers and lost scrolls and vampires (and the occasional squid god) instead, thank you.
