We can pay a huge range of prices. Anything from about 40p (US 80c) for the supermarket's own cheap brand, up to well over £1 (US$2) for some fancy organic, free-range kind of loaf . I've just checked the one I bought this morning - that was a small brown organic "wholemeal" loaf and cost 55p (just over $1).
