Adobe has proven to be one of the few companies who stick with what they are good at!

I think they have their hands full with the 20 odd programs (photoshop, dreamweaver etc) they have and probably make more from licensing the technology out than they would from getting involved in the hardware in the increasingly saturated e-reader market.
