The .pdb files it supports are PalmDoc (ApportisDoc). Some files advertized as MobiPocket are actually ApportisDoc, or at least they are identified in their header as ApportisDoc. The Linux file command will tell you if a .pdb (or .prc) is ApportisDoc or not - but it just looks at the header. There are other e-book formats that use the .pdb file type. FBReader will also read Plucker .pdb files (as well as ApportisDoc and unencrypted MobiPocket), but there are other .pdb e-books that neither FBReader or MobiPocket will read.
