I find the anology laughable. The Kindle is not the only reader device. If you don't like the possibility to have books removed get one where you have all the control.
As for 'them' making books dissappear - eBooks stand a greater chance of surviving any form of censorship. Think of billions of copies stored independently around the globe. Once it is available on the internet any agency would be fighting a losing battle to get it removed and even a more impossible task in tracking the copies down.
