I have so hated him since earliest memory. It clearly is my destiny to destroy him. Beware, Moejoe, lest his influence over you overcome sensibility. Grave danger you are in. Cheesy sentimentalism, you are listening to. Once you start down the Manilow path, forever it will dominate your playlists, consume you it will. IT'S A TRAP!
Cheers

I like some of Barry Manilow's work. He's not my favorite artist, that honor goes to the Carpenters with Gilbert O'Sullivan, ABBA, and Prozzak as a close second, third, and fourth (although it changes a bit based on my mood).
Although I don't care for a number of his songs (I didn't like his version of "Never Gonna Give You Up"), there are many that are simply terrific. Among my favorites are: Bermuda Triangle, The Last Duet (a duet with Lily Tomlin), It Never Rains In Southern California, and I Hear Her Playing Music, Come Monday, Never Met A Man I Didn't Like.
I like Barry Manilow's music much more than much of the recent hit music. Although I've found a few great recent songs (like "No Children" by The Mountain Goats) I find less and less recent music that I like.
