But what a lot of people discuss as "display controller" are NOT the display controller (ie Epson S1D13521 or PVI6001A) but some gate array that are defective, or the ribon, on the screen.
The gates array that are on the screen are also known as "display controller", since you seems to have some board & screen look at the border of the screen, you will see small white rectangles in the white borders, THEY are the "display controller"
