Absolutely right. Has there ever been a case of a storage format whose capacity has not eventually been fully used and then replaced by one vastly larger? A card slot leaves a device open to future uses and formats which assume vastly larger capacities.
Having most people's libraries in their pocket is not even a stretch for existing cards - and storage will increase in size far faster than most of our libraries. In a couple of years 2Gb will be considered quaint.
