Do you mean a modern prose translation, or a retelling? A sci-fi sort of retelling of the Iliad that I really liked is "Ilium" by Dan Simmons, check it out, especially if you are into sci-fi. I've been meaning to check out the Alessandro Baricco novel as well, I read some of his work a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

As for prose translations, Walter Shrewring has made an excellent (and very readable) translation of "The Odyssey".
