  • I've got SFF's FBReader loaded. Works fine so far. The no-pic bug is solved and the ePub files now have a working TOC, too. The no-pic issue was caused by FBReader looking for the pics at the wrong place!
  • Adobe Reader is acting up a bit, though, occasionally. I nearly froze MM over twice with files that would not work with the Viewer. Some books are not centered correctly and text is eaten up in reflow mode. Let's hope that the PB folks are able to iron out those things for the next FW update! pdfviewer is handling those files fine, so no biggie!

Oh, I didn't have to reset MM. A simple click on the On/Off button was enough. So still waiting for my first REAL freeze here!
  • MM had his first encounter with one of his (extended) family members. In the supermarket, there was a red Sony 300 exposed. There were not a lot of friendly feelings on both sides and I guess there would have been a fight, if the 300 hadn't been chained to its stand. Us humans decided to battle it out in a more "friendly" way and compared both devices. The 300 is a lot bigger, a lot heavier and tons slower! Page turning was a lost race for the 300, too, and when it came to rendering PDFs, the 300's crew gave up! Mucho astonishment ensued and a lot of questions rained down on me! Oh, and there's still no justifying ePubs on that new Sony!

I had to notice that the Sony boots up faster, though!
  • I created a comic for MM with Calibre's cbr-converting feature and tried it out. As an extra, I unpacked the cbr and viewed them as photos. Result: Landscape view should work pretty well with most comics. If you want to blow it up, you can use the 2 column-view. Pic view is quite okay, too, but navigation as a PDF is a lot easier. Surprisingly, Adobe Reader is faring better here, because it is easier on the colors and therefore lighter. pdfviewer tends to darken those pics more! Screenshots coming later as I am still reading that comic and not connected to my PC!

Turning pages takes about 2 secs in this full graphic mode. Scrolling down the page is really fast! (my PDF is about 10 Mbs)

PS: MM is the nickname I gave to my 360. It stands, of course, for Mighty Mouse!
