As far as I know there's a third - at least they made a third movie, but perhaps the novel hasn't been translated and published in English yet. Do a little googling before despairing:

Look for "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest". As for the quality of the novels I can't comment as I haven't read them - it's just that I'm living in Scandinavia and they're a bit difficult to avoid

The end is not as dark as the novel may appear to predict. Personally I would have preferred a darker end, but that's just me.
