temperature is only one part of the whole atmospheric engine. if you are basing your argument on the existence of dodgy USA data, then realise also that a significant area of the globe does not have any surface temperature readings taken. many current temperature readings are taken by satellite soundings, and help provide an average. despite appearances on a global scale the USA is a 'small' (though significant) part.
