Okay. I went and read the manual. The macro setting is good for 6" distance. It's good out to about 9". Between that and 1m the image is fuzzy.

The problem with the macro setting is that I can't use it if I want to show an ebook reader. Only about 4" of the device will be on screen at once. This is rather disappointing because I've use my digital cameras at that distance and taken good pictures and videos.

If I use this camera for hands on videos, I'm going to have to abandon any hope of seeing the text on the screen. (Or I'll need to get a better camera.)
