Yes, the indexes are messed up at Amazon and formerly free books show up in the search weeks later. And at least one showed up for a week solid before it was actually made free (which tells me it was momentarily free, by mistake, then went back up and the index stayed stuck; eventually it went back to free). They did manage to remove 5 of the non-free ones from the list today, but many still remain.
