Photoshop for $200!
I paid £150 just for an upgrade. Standalone prices is around £350 and for the Creative Suite you're talking £1,500. In the us, I believe Photoshop CS4 retails at around $600-700
The best free alternative is The Gimp. I use it roughly 50% of the time on everything.
