Note rereading the directions helped alot, but it did hang up in a strange place.

I pressed the download button to install 2.9.5. It got to the screen warning to either abort and back up files or continue. I aborted and backed up the files. Then I pressed the button again and started the download. Then I got to the screen where it says "software Upgrade in Progress..." on the top in white letters on black. below it it has the six steps that it has to go through. It has been stuck on one for 40 minutes now with a continuous green activity light.

I do not know if it is a problem, but it seems like one and I am very afraid I am the proud new owner of a brick for the near future.....

Just thought I would share this.
