Ah, thank you for the clarification. My (wrong) assumption came from the fact that, like you, I did try to charge my Reader from an iPod Touch Wall Charger with no luck. The only difference I could think of between the charger and the computer was the software - I couldn't remember exactly if the Reader started charging on the go when I plugged it first or after I installed the software, which I did immediately in my excitement

I'm pretty sure now, after having 2 confirmations, that the Reader would indeed charge on my laptop w/o the software running ; but I would need to disable the autorun feature of the software to try it out, when the Reader gets plugged in!
