He wrote quite a few books in various genres - and won a Hugo for his history of the genre - and was a staple in Astounding in the fifties.

The movie "The Towering Inferno" is based in part on a novel he co-wrote. I think the issue with Frank Robinson is not so much that he was a one-hit wonder as he was much more a short story writer, and that the majority of his SF output came when the field was dominated by the shorter forms.
