What is the path to the library in preferences/General? Where is your Calibre Library located on your computer? When you say you deleted calibre directory do you mean you deleted the library?
As for fonts are any other programs also displaying incorrectly? There are some fonts supplied with Calibre but I think they are reader fonts and the program interface should use standard system fonts, perhaps one is corrupt or missing? Perhaps check in a wp program if all your fonts display correctly.
