Just to return to the subject of the Sony PRS 505. I have one and am very happy with it, wouldn't swap it for a Kindle etc., but want to add 2c worth in favour of pdfs.

After using LRF and epub I now prefer all my ebooks in pdf, custom formatted, because it is the easiest way to get exactly the layout I want.

Whenever possible I convert books to this format via a doc or html. OpenOffice has a very fast free pdf converter which I generally use in preference to Acrobat; apart from speed its treatment of table of contents is more consistent.

If you have texts with diagrams or pictures, it is a great advantage to be able to size and place everything in a word processor interface and then create an ebook that will reliably preserve the look.
