That's a mighty big assumption -- that the current system
works for 85% of citizens. I have insurance but I think healthcare needs a desperate overhaul. The current system doesn't really
work for me. I'm self-employed and if my business dries up, I will no longer be able to afford the insurance (which runs as much as my mortgage payment), which I need because of both medical condition and age.
Of course, once I lose my insurance, I become uninsurable because of preexisting conditions -- a real Catch-22.
So at least for this part of the 85% the current system doesn't work well.
